Summary
A marketing coordinator resume is a one to two page record of throughput: how many campaigns you shipped, on what cadence, across which channels, and which of them you ran without review. This guide gives you three adaptable versions, the cadence block that proves the volume, and current Bureau of Labor Statistics pay for the occupation coordinators are counted in.
Marketing Coordinator resume examples by experience level
A marketing coordinator resume is a one to two page document that proves throughput. Not strategy, not vision: how much work went out of the door, on what rhythm, and how much of it went out without anyone checking it first.
That is not a lesser thing to be hired for. A marketing team can survive a quarter without a new strategy. It cannot survive a week without the email going out, the landing page being live, the brief reaching design in time and the event badges arriving. The person who makes that happen is the coordinator, and the resume that gets read is the one that makes the volume and the rhythm visible on the page.
Resume guide for a marketing coordinator resume
This guide and the corresponding marketing coordinator resume example will cover:
- How to write a marketing coordinator resume around volume and cadence
- The cadence block: channels, frequency, twelve-month volume and your level of ownership
- Three adaptable summaries: first coordinator role, five years, senior coordinator
- How to write about work you supported without either overclaiming or disappearing

How to write a marketing coordinator resume
Six sections: contact header, summary, cadence block, experience, skills and systems, education and certifications.
The cadence block is the section that does not appear on other marketing resumes, and it goes high, directly under the summary. Everything else follows the usual order.
| Section | What it is answering | Where it goes |
|---|---|---|
| Cadence block | How much goes out, how often, and who checks it? | Directly under the summary |
| Experience | What did you own, and what changed while you owned it? | Reverse chronological, with numbers |
| Skills and systems | Which platforms can you administer rather than just use? | Grouped, with the level of access named |
| Education and certifications | Does this person clear the degree filter, and are the platform certifications current? | Last, kept short |
Run the file through the free Rezoom ATS resume checker before you send it. Coordinator postings attract high application volumes and the screening is usually automated.
Choosing the best resume format for a marketing coordinator resume
Reverse chronological, one page for the first four or five years, two pages once you are running a calendar across more than one business unit.
There is a real temptation in this role to use a functional format, because coordinator work is repetitive by nature and the job titles do not change much. Resist it. The repetition is the point: a reader wants to see three years of the same person shipping the same kinds of work at a rising volume, because that is what predicts they will ship it again next quarter.
If you have moved between industries, keep the chronology and let the cadence block carry the transferable part. The rhythm of a weekly email and a quarterly event is the same in software and in outdoor retail; only the words change.

The second line is doing more work than it looks. "Marketing Coordinator" alone is a title held by people whose jobs have almost nothing in common: one runs a 200,000-address email program, another books trade show stands, a third proofreads brochures. Add the segment or the channel set so the reader knows which kind you are before they reach the first bullet.
Make use of a summary
Four lines: years and segment, the channels you own, the volume, and one number that moved.

Marketing coordinator with five years running the campaign calendar for a 60-person B2B software company. Ship roughly 22 campaigns a quarter across email, paid social and events: the brief, the build, the schedule and the post-send report, with two of the four channels run without review. Took the email list from 42,000 to 71,000 addresses in two years while holding unsubscribe rate under 0.3%.
Senior marketing coordinator running one shared calendar across three business units and 11 stakeholders. Coordinate about 90 campaigns a year, 340 email sends and 14 trade events, and cut average brief-to-launch time from 19 days to 11 by replacing four intake channels with one form. Train and check the work of two junior coordinators and own the marketing automation instance of record.
Right vs wrong: the same marketing coordinator summary, twice
| ✅ Right | ❌ Wrong |
|---|---|
| Marketing coordinator with five years running the campaign calendar for a 60-person B2B software company. | Experienced marketing coordinator with a proven track record in a fast-paced environment. |
| Ship roughly 22 campaigns a quarter across email, paid social and events, with two of the four channels run without review. | Responsible for assisting with the execution of marketing campaigns across multiple channels. |
| Took the email list from 42,000 to 71,000 addresses in two years while holding unsubscribe under 0.3%. | Helped grow the company's email database and improve engagement. |
The right column tells a hiring manager how much of their backlog you can absorb. The left column, which is what most coordinator resumes actually say, tells them nothing except that you have had the job title before.
Outline your marketing experience
Company, segment, team size, dates, then four to six bullets. Every bullet needs either a volume, a cadence or a delta, and the strongest ones carry two.
| Instead of | Use |
|---|---|
| Assisted with email marketing campaigns | Built and sent 214 emails in 12 months to a 71,000-address list, including segmentation, build, QA and the post-send report |

| Supported trade show planning | Coordinated 4 trade shows a year: booth logistics, 1,100 pieces of collateral, pre-show email sequence and the lead upload afterwards |

Marketing Coordinator, Brightlane Software, Columbus, OH, March 2023 to Present
Run the campaign calendar for a 60-person B2B software company: roughly 22 campaigns a quarter across email, paid social, webinars and events.
Own email end to end, 214 sends in the last 12 months to a 71,000-address list, including segmentation, build, QA, send and the post-send report. List grew from 42,000 to 71,000 in two years with unsubscribe held under 0.3%.
Publish 4 posts a week across three organic social channels, 612 posts in the last year, writing all copy and sourcing all creative.
Run a monthly webinar program, 12 events and 3,400 registrations last year, from the invitation sequence through to the recording and follow-up.
Replaced four request channels with a single intake form; average brief-to-launch time fell from 19 days to 11 across two quarters.
Support the field marketing lead on 4 trade shows a year, owning collateral, pre-show email and the post-show lead upload.
Publish your cadence: volume, channels and what you ran without review
Here is the block almost no coordinator includes, and it is the one that separates two candidates with identical titles.
Make a small table. One row per channel. Four columns: the channel and the tool, the cadence, the volume over the last twelve months, and your level of ownership. That last column is the honest one, and it is what makes the rest believable.
Use three consistent labels and use them the same way every time: ran it means you produced and released it and nobody checked before it went out; ran it with approval means you produced it and one named person signed off; supported it means someone else owned it and you did a defined part.
Cadence, last 12 months
Email, HubSpot Marketing Hub. Weekly, plus four campaign bursts a year. 214 sends to 71,000 addresses. Ran it.
Organic social, three channels, Sprout Social. Four posts a week. 612 posts. Ran it.
Webinars, Zoom and HubSpot. Monthly. 12 events, 3,400 registrations. Ran it.
Landing pages, HubSpot CMS. On demand. 96 pages built. Ran it with approval from the demand generation manager.
Paid social, LinkedIn and Meta. Always on, creative refreshed monthly. 38 creative variants against a $240,000 annual budget. Supported: built and trafficked the creative, did not hold the budget.
Trade events. Quarterly. 4 shows, 1,100 pieces of collateral. Supported the field marketing lead.
Two things happen when you write this down. The first is that a hiring manager can size you immediately, which is the entire purpose. The second is less comfortable and more useful: you find out what you actually own. Coordinators routinely discover, writing this block, that the channel they describe as "theirs" in conversation is one they have never released without a check, and that a channel they think of as minor is the one they run completely alone. Apply to the job the table describes, not the one the title suggests.
Name the compliance rule you work inside, because it is part of the job
Coordinators are usually the last pair of hands on an email before it reaches tens of thousands of people, which makes them the person who has to know the rules.
Under the CAN-SPAM Act, a commercial email must carry accurate header information and a non-deceptive subject line, identify itself as an advertisement, include a valid physical postal address, and offer a clear opt-out that is honored within 10 business days; the FTC's compliance guidance sets penalties of up to $53,088 for each separate violating email (Federal Trade Commission, CAN-SPAM Act compliance guide, August 2023, revised January 2024).
A line such as "own the suppression list and the 10-business-day opt-out process across three sending domains" tells a hiring manager you will not be the reason their legal team gets a call. Almost no coordinator resume says anything about this, and it is a genuine differentiator on a page where most claims are interchangeable.
Build a snapshot of your key skills
Ten to fourteen entries in three groups. Name your access level in the platforms, not just the platform names, because "HubSpot" on a resume covers everything from reading a dashboard to administering the portal.
Platforms and access: HubSpot Marketing Hub (super admin), Salesforce (marketing user), Sprout Social (admin), Zoom Webinars (host and admin), Asana (project owner), Google Analytics 4 (editor)
Execution: Campaign briefing, Email build and QA, List segmentation and suppression management, Landing page build, Webinar production, Trade show logistics
Reporting and process: Post-campaign reporting, UTM taxonomy and enforcement, Intake and request workflow design, Editorial and campaign calendar management, Vendor and print coordination
That first group is the one to get right. A hiring manager who needs someone to administer their marketing automation instance on day one is reading for the word in brackets.
List your education and certifications
Degree, institution, year, then platform certifications with the issuing body and the date. Keep it short; for a coordinator, this section is a filter to clear rather than a case to make.
Bachelor of Arts, Communication, Ohio University, Athens, OH, 2021
Certifications: HubSpot Marketing Software Certification, HubSpot Academy (renewed February 2026). Google Ads Search Certification, Google Skillshop (2025). HubSpot Email Marketing Certification, HubSpot Academy (2024).
Professional development: CAN-SPAM and email compliance training, completed 2025.
Platform certifications expire, usually annually, and a lapsed one on the page is worse than no certification because it invites the reader to check. Put the renewal date, not the original date.
Choose the right layout and design
Single column, 10.5 or 11 point, clear headings, no photograph, no icons. The cadence block should be visually distinct, either as a compact table or as the indented list shown above, so that a reader skimming for thirty seconds lands on it.
Put a cadence block under the summary with volume and ownership level. Use the same three ownership labels throughout. Give every bullet a volume, a cadence or a delta. Name your access level in each platform. Say what your part was on work you supported. Put renewal dates on platform certifications.
Do not write "assisted with" or "supported" without saying which part was yours. Do not describe channels you have touched as channels you own. Do not list every tool you have ever opened; list the ones you could administer tomorrow. Do not use a functional format to hide repetitive titles, since the repetition is the evidence. Do not claim campaign results that belong to the whole funnel when your contribution was the build.
Marketing coordinator job market and outlook
The Bureau of Labor Statistics does not publish a separate profile for marketing coordinators. The occupation they are counted in is market research analysts and marketing specialists, which also holds marketing specialists, campaign managers and analysts, and it is one of the largest and fastest growing groups in the Handbook.
| Measure | Value |
|---|---|
| Market research analyst and marketing specialist jobs, 2025 | 952,700 |
| Projected change, 2025-35 | 7% (much faster than average) |
| Typical entry-level education | Bachelor's degree |
| Median annual wage, May 2025 | $78,760 |
| Lowest 10 percent, May 2025 | less than $43,390 |
| Highest 10 percent, May 2025 | more than $155,480 |
Source: U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Occupational Outlook Handbook, May 2025 wage data and 2025 to 2035 projections.
That spread, from under $43,390 to over $155,480, is the single most important fact on this page. It is a range of more than three and a half times within one occupational code, and coordinators sit in its lower half while the analysts and specialists they work alongside sit higher. Moving up inside the range is mostly a question of industry and of which parts of the work you own outright, which is exactly what the cadence block is for.
Industry moves coordinator pay more than a promotion does
Within the same occupation, median pay in May 2025 varied sharply by industry: information paid $102,670, management of companies and enterprises $99,850, finance and insurance $94,330, wholesale trade $78,780 and management, scientific and technical consulting services $77,820 (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Occupational Outlook Handbook, May 2025).
Employment is spread across those industries rather than concentrated: consulting services holds 11% of the occupation, finance and insurance 10%, information 9%, management of companies 7% and wholesale trade 7% (BLS, 2025).
The gap between the top and bottom of that list is roughly $25,000 a year for work that looks similar on paper. A coordinator moving from a consulting firm to a software or media company is often making a larger financial move than one being promoted in place, and the cadence block travels between industries almost unchanged, which is what makes that move possible.
What salary you can expect as a marketing coordinator
The occupation that holds marketing coordinators, market research analysts and marketing specialists, had a median annual wage of $78,760 in May 2025, with the lowest 10 percent under $43,390 and the highest 10 percent over $155,480 (BLS Occupational Outlook Handbook, May 2025). Coordinator titles cluster below that median; the roles above it are typically specialists, campaign managers and analysts within the same code.
Three things move a coordinator's number, in descending order of effect.
Industry comes first, for the reasons in the figures above. Second is the number of channels you release without review, because that is the difference between a role a company can fill with a graduate and one it cannot. Third is systems ownership: a coordinator who administers the marketing automation instance, controls the UTM taxonomy and holds the suppression list is carrying operational risk, and that is compensated even when the title does not change.
What does not move it much is campaign results. A coordinator who claims credit for a revenue number is usually claiming the whole funnel's work, and an experienced interviewer will unpick it in two questions. Claim the throughput, the process improvements and the reliability instead. Those are yours.
Key takeaways for a marketing coordinator resume
- Prove throughput: volume, cadence and how much goes out without a check.
- Put a cadence block under the summary, one row per channel, with a twelve-month volume.
- Use three consistent ownership labels: ran it, ran it with approval, supported it.
- Name your access level in each platform, not just the platform.
- Give every experience bullet a volume, a cadence or a delta.
- Claim process improvements and reliability, not funnel revenue.
- Name the compliance rule you work inside; almost nobody does.
- Keep the chronology; repetitive titles at rising volume are the evidence, not a problem.

Marketing coordinator resume questions, answered
How long should a marketing coordinator resume be?
One page for the first four or five years. Two pages once you are coordinating across more than one business unit or managing other coordinators, and only if the second page is volume and systems rather than more adjectives.
What is the difference between a marketing coordinator and a marketing associate resume?
Mostly the axis they are written on. A coordinator resume is built on throughput and calendar: how much shipped, how often, who checked it. An associate resume is usually built on the stack and the range of work handled. If your job is genuinely the calendar, write the cadence block and do not apologize for the absence of strategy bullets.
How do I write about campaigns where I only did part of the work?
Name your part in the first clause and the scale of the whole thing in the second. "Built and trafficked 38 creative variants against a $240,000 annual paid social budget held by the demand generation manager" is accurate, specific and more impressive than a vague claim on the budget, because it tells a reader exactly what they would be hiring.
Should I put campaign results on a coordinator resume?
Put results you can defend. Open rates, unsubscribe rates, registrations, page builds, cycle times and list growth are yours. Pipeline and revenue usually are not, and claiming them is the fastest way to lose credibility in an interview with someone who has done the job.
What certifications are worth holding as a marketing coordinator?
The ones for the platforms you administer, kept current. HubSpot and Salesforce Marketing Cloud certifications, Google Ads and Google Analytics, and whichever social management suite you run. Put the renewal date rather than the first award date, since these expire and a lapsed certification on the page invites a check you will not pass.
Is a marketing coordinator role a dead end?
No, but it does branch. The occupation it sits inside is projected to grow 7% between 2025 and 2035 (BLS Occupational Outlook Handbook, 2025 to 2035 projections), and coordinators generally move in one of three directions: deeper into one channel and towards specialist or manager titles, sideways into marketing operations, or up into campaign or program management. Each of those is a different resume, and the cadence block is the raw material for all three.
