Editorial standards

Our editorial standards: four rules, every guide.

Every guide on the Rezoom blog follows the same four standards, from the first source we open to the latest update. Each one is something you can check on the page.

  1. Research

    Start from labor data

Labor data comes from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics and O*NET, two public sources backed by the US Department of Labor, not from guesswork or forum lore.

  2. Cite

    Name the source and year

Every statistic names its source and year next to it, so you can check it yourself. We keep statistics under three years old.

  3. Show

    Worked examples, every time

Every article shows the advice in action: sample resume lines, letter paragraphs or interview answers you can adapt to your own story.

  4. Review

    Reviewed and updated

We go back to articles after they go live and update them, so the advice, data and examples stay current.

FAQ

Can you trust our guides?

How the Rezoom blog is written, sourced and kept up to date. More in the full FAQ.

Who writes the Rezoom blog?

Rezoom’s two co-founders. Mohammad Goodi writes as Goodi and covers every category, from resume help to career moves. Ali Hdshy writes as Hdshy about resumes, job interviews and the job search.

What qualifies the authors to give resume advice?

Their work building Rezoom. Mohammad has spent more than ten years designing consumer products and leads product. Ali is a full-stack developer who leads engineering, including how Rezoom reads a resume file. Rather than ask you to take that on trust, every guide shows its sources, dates its statistics and includes worked examples you can check.

Where does Rezoom get its labor data?

From the US Bureau of Labor Statistics and O*NET. When an article uses a statistic, it names the source and the year next to it.

How current are the statistics in Rezoom articles?

Under three years old, and always shown with their source and year, so you can judge them for yourself.

Are Rezoom articles updated after they are published?

Yes. Articles are reviewed and updated, so the advice, the data and the worked examples stay current.

Do the guides promote Rezoom?

We make Rezoom, so our guides link to its tools where they help, such as the free ATS resume checker. The writing advice itself works in any editor, and you don’t need an account to read it.

How do I report a mistake in an article?

Use the contact form or email info@rezoom.io with the article and what looks wrong. A real person reads every message and usually replies within one business day.

Find your answer, then put it to work.
