Summary

A concierge resume is a one to two page document built on the request log: what guests ask for, how often, and how reliably you close it. What actually gets you hired is the vendor and restaurant network behind that log, not a job title. This guide gives you three adaptable versions, the Les Clefs d'Or USA qualification most applicants never mention, and current federal wage data for an occupation the Bureau of Labor Statistics does not profile in detail.

Concierge resume examples by experience level

In short, a concierge resume is a one to two page document that proves you can close a guest's request, not just describe your personality on the page.

Of course, every concierge resume claims to be resourceful, warm and detail-oriented. None of that is checkable in ten seconds, and a director of guest services reading forty files at once is looking for what is: the kinds of requests you have actually closed, the network you built to close them, and, if you have it, the one credential in this field that a hiring desk can actually verify.

Resume guide for a concierge resume

To start, this guide and the corresponding concierge resume example will cover:

  • First, how to write a concierge resume, section by section
  • Then, why the request log belongs on the page, and what to put in it
  • Also, three adaptable summaries: lobby attendant, working concierge, chief concierge
  • What Les Clefs d'Or USA actually requires, and how to write toward it
  • Finally, what the job market looks like and what you can expect to earn

How to write a concierge resume

Overall, use six sections: contact header, summary, request log and network, concierge experience, skills, education and certifications. In general, one page for your first few years, two once you are running a desk and a team.

The order is deliberate. In particular, the request log sits high on the page because it is the fastest way to answer the question a reader actually has, which is not "are you likeable" but "what have you actually arranged, and at what volume."

SectionWhat it is answeringWhere it goes
Request log and networkWhat do you actually get asked for, and can you deliver it?Directly under the summary
Concierge experienceWhat property, what volume, how long?Reverse chronological, with numbers
CertificationsAre you close to, or already holding, Les Clefs d'Or?Below education, named plainly
SkillsWhat tools and vendor categories do you already know? Its own block, grouped
Expert Tip

Name the request categories and give a volume, not just a vibe

"Handled guest requests with a smile" tells a reader nothing they can act on. A concierge desk is a small number of repeating categories at a specific volume: dinner reservations at named restaurants, transportation and airport transfers, tickets and tours, spa and salon bookings, and the occasional request nobody has a script for.

Write it as a count and a close rate: "40 to 55 requests a shift across five categories, logged and closed the same day in 96 percent of cases." That single sentence tells a reader your volume, your organization and your reliability at once, which three adjectives never do.

Run the finished file through the ATS resume checker before you send it. Larger hotel groups route applications through a parsing system before a human opens one.

Choosing the best resume format for a concierge resume

As a rule, use reverse chronological order, one page for your first few years, two once you are chief concierge or hold Les Clefs d'Or membership and the credential and the team you lead genuinely need the room.

A functional or skills-first format fails here for the same reason it fails at any front-of-house desk: a reader wants to see the property, the tenure and the progression, because a concierge's value compounds with the local network they have built, and a format that hides the timeline hides the thing that makes a five-year concierge worth more than a five-month one.

Next, if you hold Les Clefs d'Or membership, or are within a year of qualifying, say so in the header line. It is one of the only lines on a hospitality resume a hiring desk can verify against a public roster the same afternoon.

Make use of a summary

Four lines: what you are, the property and its scale, your request volume with a close rate, and the credential line if you have one.

Maintain an active network of 120 restaurant, transportation, tour and vendor contacts built over three years. Three years into the five required for Les Clefs d'Or USA membership, with the desk signed "concierge" since 2020.

Chief concierge adaptable resume summary example

Chief concierge and Les Clefs d'Or USA member leading a desk of four at a 420 room full service hotel, closing an average of 210 logged requests a week across the property at a 98 percent same-day close rate. Manage a network of over 200 restaurant, transportation, ticket, spa and specialty vendor contacts across the city, and personally handle escalated and VIP requests. Admitted to Les Clefs d'Or USA in 2025 after five years of continuous full-time lobby-level concierge work.

Adaptable resume employment history example

Concierge, The Bayshore Grand Hotel, 420 rooms, full service, San Francisco, CA, June 2020 to April 2023

Ran the desk solo on evening shifts, closing 45 to 60 logged guest requests a shift across dining, transportation, tickets and tours, spa bookings and special occasion arrangements, at a 97 percent same-day close rate over 18 months.

Built and maintained a working network of 120 restaurant, transportation, tour and vendor contacts, adding or refreshing the list quarterly against guest feedback.

Arranged an average of 30 off-menu requests a quarter that had no standard vendor: sold-out show tickets, private dining room buyouts, and same-day medical and pharmacy referrals.

Logged every request in the property's guest request system with the outcome and the time to close, and used that log to brief the incoming shift.

Trained two new concierge hires on the log and the network; both passed their ninety-day review.

The request log, the network behind it, and what Les Clefs d'Or requires

This is the section almost no concierge resume gets right, and it decides more shortlists than the summary does.

The request log is the job. A concierge is judged on four things a log can prove and an adjective cannot: what categories you handle, how many requests a shift, how quickly you close them, and how often you close them at all. Break your categories out by name rather than writing "guest requests" as one line: dining reservations at named or tiered restaurants, ground transportation and airport transfers, tickets and tours, spa and salon bookings, special occasion arrangements such as flowers or a cake, and the small category of requests with no standard vendor at all, which is where a concierge actually earns the title. Give a volume for a typical shift and a close rate over a stated period, the same way you would give a sales number a time frame.

The network is what the log runs on. Anyone can look up a restaurant's phone number. What a hiring desk is actually screening for is a standing relationship: the maître d' who holds a table past the reservation cutoff, the car service that answers at midnight, the box office contact who calls back about a sold-out show. Write the network as a number with categories, not a claim: "120 restaurant, transportation, tour and vendor contacts, refreshed quarterly" is checkable in a way that "extensive local connections" is not. If you have built a network from nothing at a new property, say so; that is a real, demonstrable skill on its own.

Les Clefs d'Or USA is the credential this occupation actually has, and most applicants never mention it because they assume it is decorative. It is not. Les Clefs d'Or USA publishes specific, checkable membership requirements: applicants must be employed by hotels or resort hotels with a transient clientele as a full-time hotel lobby-level concierge for a minimum of five years, the final year immediately before applying must be worked continuously as a full-time hotel lobby concierge, the desk itself must carry a sign that includes the word "concierge", and applicants must be at least 21 (Les Clefs d'Or USA, membership qualifications, accessed September 2026).

Read that closely, and as a result two things follow for the resume. First, the clock only starts once your desk is actually signed "concierge": time spent as a lobby attendant, bell captain or guest services agent before that point does not count, however similar the work felt day to day. Second, the final year has to be continuous, so a resume that shows a gap or a lateral move out of a lobby-level concierge post in the last twelve months is worth explaining, because a reader who knows the requirement will notice it before you do.

If you are not yet eligible, say exactly where you stand: "three years into the five required for Les Clefs d'Or USA membership" is a stronger line than saying nothing, because it shows you know the bar exists and are tracking against it. If you have been admitted, put the year on the page; it is one of the only credentials in hospitality that a reader can verify against a public roster the same afternoon.

Adaptable resume request log and network example

Request categories handled: dining reservations at 25 partner restaurants across three price tiers, ground transportation and airport transfers, tickets and tours, spa and salon bookings, special occasion arrangements, off-menu requests with no standard vendor

Volume and close rate: 45 to 60 logged requests a shift, 97 percent closed within the promised window over 18 months, average response time under 8 minutes for standard requests

Vendor network: 120 active restaurant, transportation, tour, florist and specialty vendor contacts, reviewed and refreshed quarterly against guest feedback

Les Clefs d'Or USA: full-time lobby-level concierge since June 2020, desk signed "concierge" throughout, three years toward the five-year membership requirement

Build a snapshot of your key skills

Generally, list ten to fourteen entries in three groups: request handling, network and vendor management, and systems.

Adaptable resume skills example

Request handling: Dining reservation sourcing, Ground transportation and airport transfer coordination, Ticket and tour booking, Spa and special occasion arrangement, Off-menu and last-minute request resolution, VIP and repeat guest profiling

Network and vendor management: Restaurant and vendor relationship building, Contact list maintenance and refresh, Multi-language guest communication, Escalation handling without a manager

Systems: OpenTable and Tock reservation platforms, GoConcierge and ALICE guest request logging, property guest profile systems, basic point of sale for concierge desk charges

Also name the reservation and logging platforms by product where you can. After all, a property replacing a concierge on short notice is scanning for someone who needs two days on the system, not two weeks.

List your education and certifications

Education is usually short here; the certification line is where this occupation actually differentiates.

Adaptable resume education and certifications example

Les Clefs d'Or USA, member, admitted 2025

Associate of Applied Science, Hospitality Management, City College of San Francisco, San Francisco, CA, 2018

CPR and first aid, American Red Cross, 2025

Property training: guest request logging system certification (internal, 2021), food allergen awareness covering all nine major allergens recognized under the FDA Food Code (internal, refreshed 2025)

Similarly, if you are not yet a Les Clefs d'Or member, list your progress the same honest way you would in the summary: "three years toward Les Clefs d'Or USA membership" rather than leaving the line blank.

Choose the right layout and design

Above all, keep a single column, 10 to 12 point type, one page, no photograph. This matters because hotel groups and staffing agencies run applications through a parser, and a two-column layout with icons is where that parsing breaks.

Do

Give a request volume and a close rate with a time period attached. Name your vendor network as a number with categories. State exactly where you stand against the Les Clefs d'Or five-year requirement, whether you have it or not. Name the reservation and logging systems you have used. Put one line on the hardest request you have solved with no standard vendor.

Iconly/Bold/Close Square Don’t

Do not write "extensive local connections" with no number behind it. Do not claim time as a lobby attendant or bell captain toward Les Clefs d'Or eligibility; the desk has to be signed "concierge". Do not name or describe an identifiable guest, however good the story is. Do not pad a one-page desk resume to two before you are running a team.

Concierge job market and outlook

Notably, the Bureau of Labor Statistics publishes no current Occupational Outlook Handbook profile for concierges. What it does publish is the national employment and wage estimate for the occupation in the current Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics release, which is a different table from the Handbook and does not carry a projected change or an annual openings figure.

MeasureValue
Concierge jobs, May 202549,240
Median hourly wage, May 2025$20.44
Median annual wage, May 2025$42,510

Source: U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics, national occupational employment and wage estimates, May 2025.

Because that release does not project growth, this page cites none for concierges specifically. Instead, what it can show is where the occupation sits against the desk below it and the job above it on the same career ladder:

Adjacent occupationEmployment, 2025Median annual wage, May 2025
Baggage porters and bellhops28,510$38,570
Concierges49,240$42,510
Lodging managers54,800$69,250

Source: baggage porters and bellhops, and concierges, from BLS Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics, May 2025; lodging managers from BLS Occupational Outlook Handbook, May 2025 wage data.

Statistical insight

Concierges are a small occupation; the ladder above the desk is growing

The Bureau of Labor Statistics counted 49,240 concierges nationally in the May 2025 Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics release, a small occupation next to the 1,287,600 information clerks the Handbook tracks in the wider front-of-house administrative group (BLS Occupational Outlook Handbook, 2025-35 projections).

The job most concierges are actually walking toward is the one directly above the desk. Lodging managers held 54,800 jobs in 2025 and are projected to grow 4 percent through 2035, with about 5,500 openings a year (BLS Occupational Outlook Handbook, 2025-35 projections).

That is the case for building the network and the Les Clefs d'Or record now rather than later. A hiring manager promoting from the concierge desk into a management post is looking at exactly the two things this section asks you to document: whether you can run relationships at scale, and whether an outside body has already verified your standing in the field.

What salary you can expect as a concierge

Specifically, the median annual wage for concierges was $42,510, or $20.44 an hour, as of May 2025 (BLS Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics, May 2025). That sits above baggage porters and bellhops at $38,570 and well below lodging managers at $69,250 (BLS, May 2025), which is the shape of the career ladder this occupation actually sits on.

Those figures are base wage only. A meaningful share of concierge income at many properties comes from gratuities for arranged services, which the wage tables above do not capture and which this page will not estimate, because no verified figure exists for it.

Where a resume can move pay inside that band is the same place a hiring manager is already looking: Les Clefs d'Or USA membership, a documented network and close rate, and language ability, since a concierge who can work a request in a second language is scheduled for the shifts that need it.

Key takeaways for a concierge resume

  1. First, lead with a request volume and a close rate, not an adjective.
  2. Then name your vendor network as a number with categories, not a claim.
  3. In addition, state exactly where you stand against the Les Clefs d'Or five-year requirement.
  4. Also remember the clock only starts once your desk is signed "concierge".
  5. Next, name the reservation and logging systems you have used, by product.
  6. Finally, give one example of a request you solved with no standard vendor.
  7. Keep it one page until you are running a desk or a team.

Concierge resume questions, answered

How long should a concierge resume be?

One page for your first few years. Two pages once you are running a desk, leading a team, or hold Les Clefs d'Or USA membership and the credential line, network size and team you manage genuinely need the room.

What if I have not reached the five years Les Clefs d'Or requires yet?

Say exactly where you stand: how many years you have worked a desk signed "concierge" full-time, and how many more you need. That is a stronger line than leaving the credential off the page entirely, because it shows a reader you know the bar exists.

Do I need Les Clefs d'Or membership to get hired as a concierge?

No. Most working concierges are not members; it is closer to a distinguishing credential than an entry requirement. What a hiring desk needs from any applicant is the request log and network evidence this page describes. Les Clefs d'Or membership is what separates a strong file from an exceptional one once you are eligible.

What do I put on a concierge resume with no hotel experience?

Any front-of-house role where you sourced things for people under time pressure counts: retail personal shopping, event coordination, high-end restaurant hosting, or a corporate front desk that handled visitor logistics. Write the categories, the volume and the close rate the same way this page describes, then name the reservation or booking systems you already know.

Why doesn't this page give a growth projection for concierges?

Because none is published. The Bureau of Labor Statistics tracks concierge pay and employment in its Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics release, but it has not published a current Occupational Outlook Handbook profile for the occupation, and only the Handbook publishes projected growth and annual openings. This page cites the adjacent, published lodging managers projection instead, since that is the job most concierges are promoted into.

Should I list every vendor contact by name?

No. List the network as a number with categories on the resume, and be ready to name specific contacts at interview if asked. A resume that lists individual restaurant and vendor names reads as name-dropping rather than evidence, and some vendor relationships are worth keeping off a document that could end up anywhere.
