Put the equipment and its size in the first paragraph
A chemical engineering hiring manager has a unit with a problem. They are reading to find someone who has already met that problem.
Write the equipment and the number: "I have owned a 78-tray depropanizer, a 42 MW fired cracking heater and a four-stage cracked gas compression train in an OSHA PSM-covered plant." That is four seconds of reading and it settles the match.
Then the regime, in the same breath, because it is the part that does not transfer. Process Safety Management, current good manufacturing practice and food safety preventive controls are three different working lives, and a reader who has to guess which one you come from will usually guess wrong.

How to write a move between industries
The regime is the real barrier, and pretending otherwise is the fastest way to lose the reader. Name what genuinely travels, then say plainly what does not.

Name the unit operations and their sizes in the first paragraph. Name the regulatory regime by its rule number. Give one result with a before, an after and a payback or a period. Say whether the process was batch or continuous. Name the simulation package and what you built in it. Name one real thing about their plant or project from their own public material.
Do not describe a pilot result as a plant result. Do not claim experience under a regime you have not worked in. Do not write "process optimization" with no equipment attached. Do not list HAZOP, LOPA and PSM as bare acronyms with nothing behind them. Do not send a letter with no plant or company name in it.
