Put the season in the first paragraph, not your philosophy
A club board reading applications in August is thinking about one thing: who owns the calendar between now and the February championship, and then again between April and July. Name it. "I would run a 22-week short course cycle into the LSC championship and a 16-week long course cycle into the summer meet, with a three-week taper for championship swimmers." Above all, you never name a child, a time or a college commitment. Instead, everything below is a group number, and each one sits in a file the club already holds.
